On my Joomla sites I'm having an issue with the way Safari opens pdf files. If a visitor clicks on a linked pdf it opens in Safari but the file is in a small viewport-type window, refusing to open full-size. It can't be resized. (See attached screenshot for an example.) Clicking on the same link with Firefox/Chrom/Edge gives the expected results - a full-page display of the pdf.
Searching through the internet shows a number of people with similar Safari experiences (although with no reference to Joomla) with no real solution.
If I take the same pdf and store it elsewhere, like on AWS or Backblaze, and link to it, Safari opens it full-screen. I've played with the htaccess file and it seems to make no difference. This behavior can be seen on both of the hosting services I'm currently using.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be doing this? Thank you!
